icecold29
I am running a 550B and the primer assembly operating rod is working it's way out of the primer assembly rod bracket. This is causing the primer seating cup to fail to pick up a new primer. This is happening anywhere from every 10 to 25 rounds. If I watch it and push the operating rod in every 10 or so rounds I can keep from missing a primer. By watching this so closely I find myself staring between the primer housing shield and the 550 frame which can't be safe even with safety glasses. I know the operating rod needs to swivel while inside the bracket so I can't use any type of lock-tite or glue. Let me know of any ideas. icecold29
Not yet, seemed like a simply little problem and hoped to find a quick solution with everyone on the forum.
Nik Habicht
Is everything that should be bolted down tightly?
Intel6
You can loosen up the bracket and try to swivel it to change the angle but most people just wrap a rubber band around the end of the rod and the bracket to keep it from coming out. Flexmoney
Moderator note: I am going to move this to the Dillon Forum. Please let us know how it works out.
icecold29
I tightened everything down and made sure the operating rod had the proper angle, it does seem to be working better now. It does still work it's way out slightly but continues to pick up the new primers. Thanks Everyone
