Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Credit card bills will be coming due soon so the stock piling will slow way down.
  2. I recently received a new .308/.30-06 conversion kit for my Dillon 650 which has a new "B" powder funnel. I also had an older "B" funnel and noticed the new one is about .15" shorter than the older one. I am assuming I will need to run the powder die down further to activate the powder drop and this should be all. Am I correct? Or is there a reason I should not use one or the other? On the other hand I have a new "A" funnel and an old "A" funnel and on these the new one is longer by 1/4" Thanks Jerry
  3. Has anyone used the EliteAmmunition conversion plate on the 550? I emailed Dillon about using my 550 to load the 5.7 x 28 and they said it can't be loaded on any Dillon machine. They said "No, the 5.7 x 28 cartridge has too small a base diameter to be used on any Dillon equipment." Later I found the Elite Ammunition plate for sale while putting the pieces in place to load on my RCBS single stage. I trust in Dillon and their recomendations so I was looking for some feedback on whether or not this plate was a good idea or not? Thanks Jerry
  4. I tightened everything down and made sure the operating rod had the proper angle, it does seem to be working better now. It does still work it's way out slightly but continues to pick up the new primers. Thanks Everyone
  5. Not yet, seemed like a simply little problem and hoped to find a quick solution with everyone on the forum.
  6. I am running a 550B and the primer assembly operating rod is working it's way out of the primer assembly rod bracket. This is causing the primer seating cup to fail to pick up a new primer. This is happening anywhere from every 10 to 25 rounds. If I watch it and push the operating rod in every 10 or so rounds I can keep from missing a primer. By watching this so closely I find myself staring between the primer housing shield and the 550 frame which can't be safe even with safety glasses. I know the operating rod needs to swivel while inside the bracket so I can't use any type of lock-tite or glue. Let me know of any ideas. Thanks Jerry
  7. I have a '76 model Colt 70/80 Government with the same problem. Mine is 100% original and belong to family members that most likely never shot it for at least 25 years prior to my receiving it. I checked online and it seems like around $5.99 for a new Colt recoil spring. Should I try a new 16# recoil spring? I get the same 1/4 to 1/3 of the brass flattened out on my spent brass. I do reload mine on a Dillon 550 with Dillon dies and no new problems other than more flattened brass, no more than from factory brass though. Thanks Everyone for all the info received on this website, I don't post much but read a lot. Thanks
  8. Here is a website link for primer cross refernce. http://www.handloads.com/misc/primers.asp
  9. If you just add the 4x4's, drill holes in the bottom and put in T-bolts that are tapped for a set of refridgerator legs. This will give you about an inch of final adjustment, also makes it easy to level on concrete. I built two benches together and it cost about $10 per bench.
