Scoterbeast
Bought a used unit - runs great but the bowl has ring around media level line of built up media/cleaner. Hard as a rock. Doesn't seem to affect the functionality but would like to get it off. Tried basic cleaners - no go. Bill
NMBOpen
I've used Simple Green sprayed directly on to the ring, let it soak for a few minutes, then followed up with a sponge/scouring pad.
laportecharlie
Mine also has a thick ring of crud. I'll try the Simple Green next time I replace the media. Charlie
kevin c
Tried that: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?...l=crud&st=0 Short version, for those who don't want to read the whole boring saga: The best stuff I found is orange oil cleaner/degreaser. For really heavy buildups, spray heavily, let soak and then scour with a plastic scouring pad. Wipe out the mess, repeat if necessary. Best to clean with the same every two or three runs, and watch the amount of polish added to the media.
Sarge
and watch the amount of polish added to the media. +1 Also blackens up your corn media too fast and lessens it's effectiveness.
