Neomet
**Disclaimer** Poster has the computer literacy of his dog..... maybe less. My buds gave me the memory card from the video camera they took to Nats and I am trying to made a DVD out of it for them. When I play the AVI files all I get is the sound but but just a black screen. Same thing on all 29 clips. This is my first Mac and I am pretty lost. Any help would be appreciated.

PHolsted
Funny thing I have the same problem. WHat camera was used?
AWLAZS
It sounds like they downloaded the disk to their computer before they gave it to you. If I download he video and then look at the disk directory. I still have files for the video I downloaded. If I put the disk into the camera all I get is black screens. If I download one of the files and play it on the computer I get great pictures but no sound.

Neomet
It was an Insignia camera and what I'm trying to do is get it imported into my IDVD so I can work on it. Apparently hat doesn't recognize this format either. Edited October 13, 2009 by Neomet

Apparently hat doesn't recognize this format either. depends on how the file type is stored on the camera. if it's mpeg or QT, no problem bringing it into imovie/idvd. if it's raw as avi, that's not good-also, avi is perhaps one of the worst graphics types available...in other words the quality is pretty shi$ty.
