01G8R
I installed a new trigger in my STI. I now have a very small amount of pre travel or takeup. The tab on the front of the trigger is not causing the reduced take up. It is flush with the trigger bow. What is the proper way to increase the amount of pre travel? Is material removed from the front side of the disconnector where it touches the trigger bow? Thanks for the help
Pat Miles
What brand trigger did you put in? STI, SVI? CYa, Pat
00bullitt
Sounds like the result of putting an SV trigger in an STI. But a solution is the remove material off of the back of the sear legs that contact the disconnector. Somewhere between .005-.015" is usually necessary. bkeeler
If it is an SVI ITS trigger ............. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?...;hl=svi+trigger http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?...;hl=svi+trigger http://www.brazoscustom.com/magart/0407.htm BK
mike cyrwus
check that the middle leg of the sear spring isnt hitting the trigger bow before it touches the disconnector.
01G8R
Thanks for the help. It is an Infinity ITS. After reading the links provided I was able to sort it out. I slightly re-shaped the trigger bow and it is working properly now.
Pat Miles
I've sidestepped this issue entirely and started using the STI gunsmith fit trigger. I can cut back or reshape the shoe to any length or shape that I want. CYa, Pat
bkeeler
I installed my ITS trigger with no problems I had to actually bend the tab on the trigger bow to get the pre travel (about .040-.045) I needed lucky I guess. With the tab flush with the bow I had about.070 pre travel. Glad it worked for you. BK
