Sarge
Can I polish the flat black finish off of the mags or will they rust? How much polishing or buffing can I safely do before risking rust? I am just bored and looking to spruce them up a little. Thanks
Dan Burwell
They put the flat black coating on because they were having rust problems with the original polished blued mags. I talked with the man in charge of the M&P line about this once and he told me they went with the steel mags as they held up better knowing full well that rust could be an issue. They felt the durbility of the feed lips was more important than a little rust on the bodies. So my advice would be to find another way to waste a few hours. Sarge
Thanks Dan. I consider most of your advice on the M&P as gospel. I guess I will go do some reloading.
Less
FWIW, you can send your mags to Robar and have 'em NP3'd... (Though, maybe you only do it for your "match" mags...)
