chp5
OK, even though I just started shooting 3 gun matches, I already want to be Taran Butler So where can I find the Choate 4 shell carriers referenced in the Front Sight article? The article says they're modified by Cal. Comp. Works, but I can't find them anywhere on the web and the Cal. Comp. Works web site doesn't come up. Thanks. jhgtyre
I don't have it in front of me but I thought it said that Taran used modified CCW 6 rounders. Anyway you can get the 6 round versions at Brownell's. -ld
ErikW
I thought the article said he modified them himself by cutting down the six-rounders. Hmm, that gives me an idea...
jhgtyre
I am pretty sure you are correct Erik. It was something about the spring tension from the 6 rounders being more desirous than that found in the factory 4 rounders. -ld
PacMan
4-rounds carriers may be cool because Taran is using them, and with his skills he certainly wouldn't need the spare rounds. For me, I've found that these carriers take up space on my belt and the more I can carry per carrier, the better. I've used up to 4 carriers at many of the matches and wished that I have a 5th for spare, or in a multi gun stage, belt space is a premium and there is no sense wasting valuable real estate for the 4 rounders. (It's too bad they don't make one to carry 8 rounds.)
glockster96
I picked up one of the 4 round Calif. Comp. Works holders at the Tulsa show last weekend. Their website is Calif. Comp. Works and I believe they have them listed.
glockster96
For some reason I'm getting a page can't be displayed message for their website.
