Looking for matches on the road

Recommended Posts

I'm headed to Santa Fe for a few days with my wife, my mother, and an old friend of my mother's. While I enjoy antiquing and looking at turquoise jewelry every bit as much as the next guy, the thought occurred to me that if there was a match within an easy drive from downtown I might step out and enjoy another aspect of local flavor for a few hours.

Similar situation in Kansas City 8/1.

Suggestions? Links?

Not sure of what is an easy drive for you, but the Area 3 Championship is around the 8-1 date. In Louisville Nebraska. Here is the link. Tobydog.

Area 3 at Omaha is 3 hours North of KC. There is a one day format on 7/31 if that helps.

If you can't commit a full day detour to shoot A3 at Omaha, but make it into KC on Friday, there is a match at the Bullethole (www.bhpsc.us).

Hope this helps.

If you were going to be in KC a day earlier there is a weekly match at The Bullet Hole. The Bullet Hole Practical Shooting Club meets every Friday night starting at 6:00pm if you can swing that. Let me know if you need directions or any other info. You can check out the club at http://bhpsc.us

Thanks for the suggestions. I may check out the Bullet Hole match as time gets closer. I do need the match to be within an hour or so of the Plaza in KC or downtown Santa Fe - I'm trying to squeeze the match in with everyone else's vacation/conference schedules.

The Bullet Hole fills the bill. The range is less than 15 minutes as the crow flies from the Plaza *or about 30 minutes as the car drives on the Plaza*. If you make it while you are in town look up the long haired Match Director and say hi.

Funny thing is every time I go to Santa Fe, all I can do is eat.

I believe the best food in the world is in Santa Fe.

Close enough to Las Cruces to have lots of good green chili, Indian flare with smokey red chili and a Spanish influence without being ruined by the California or Texas interpretations. <_<

Any particular restaurants you can recommend?
