Does anyone make a competition holster for a 2.5" bbl K-Frame w/ sight rib?

The closest that I've found is this one by Price Western - http://www.pwlusa.com/Merchant2/merchant.m...ategory_Code=10

None of the other stock ( as opposed to custom made ) holsters I've researched are designed for a 2.5" barrel - 4" seems to be the shortest.

What game are you going to play? The exposed trigger will be an issue with USPSA or IDPA.

I supose if you go with a 4 in Kydex holster, you could trim the extra length.

Check with Talon Tactical. He has a holster for a 3in K frame on his website. He is a 'custom' maker but his turnaround time couple years ago was pretty quick. (Around 2 weeks)

A 2.5" will work out of a 4" holster, any reason why you want a Competition holster specifically for a 2.5" barreled gun?

Probably AP and PPC. I don't think that it's IDPA legal.

A 4" could work - I'd assumed that a 2.5" would be too short in a 4".

A holster like a Safariland Cup Challenge that holds the gun by the cylinder should work just fine. I've got an old Ernie Hill Fast-Trac that works for my K frames with 2", 3", 4", and 6" barrels.

CR Speed would fit.

It may, IF you mod the platform.

I have an original CR Revolver holster that was made for 5"-7" barrels (before they made one for less than 6") and I had to make a piece to move up the muzzle platform. It works very well.

The holster shown in the first post is for PPC. Northern Plains in Saskatoon made one similar.

The holster I used for the snubbie was a Safariland plastic clamshell that I shortened from 6".

How much do you want to spend? I think you have options here ranging from under $30 for an off the shelf 4 inch holster (i.e. Fobus or other basic manufactures of inexpensive holsters) to a pricey race holster.

How commited are you to shooting that 2.5 inch gun? Do you plan on shooting longer barrelled revos in Action Pistol and PPC? If you want one holster to use with seveal different K-frames, one of the pricier race holsters may make sense for you.

If you are just getting started. Get any holster that will meet the requirements of the games and shoot for a bit before purchasing the high dollar gear.

If you are shooting in some dedicated division for snubbies and you want a holster to match your gun, order up a kydex for the desired barrel length. Many of the Kydex holster makers have good turnaround times. You can find these for $60 on up depending on who is making it.
