Two Websites That Everyone Should Check Daily

Recommended Posts

For years I have been a member of http://slickdeals.net/ and check the site daily. You never know what you might need until you check it out! I have purchased numerous gifts for friends and family there...and still get 4 magazines monthly that I never had to pay a dime for.

A few years ago Chris Keen showed me http://www.woot.com/. Another excellent website, just this evening I picked up a Sansa e260 for under $30 shipped to replace my now dead Ipod Nano.

I'm in.

Jenny got one b4 Christmas. I like it. I don't think that I can steal it from her though. So, I'm ordering up. Thanks for the tip.

Have you loaded Rockbox? Any good? (of course you haven't...time stamp noted)

Your order for 1 Sandisk Sansa e260 4GB Media Player has been received by Woot on 1/17/2009 and your credit card has been charged $32.46.

:cheers::cheers::cheers:

Now if I can find some good bud I will be ready to listen to some tunes..... :D

Sorry I meant buds... You know, Ear Buds... for my player... :closedeyes:

Oh boy, discovered Woot when I was deployed last year. I was obsessed with the website for 2 months straight, waiting until 1 PM (that was when the website would change) my time everyday just to see what new useless goody was on display. I came out with a pointless air computer mouse/laser pointer, a new mouse for gaming (though I am more of a console gamer than a PC gamer), a heart monitor that I don't even use, and many other useless stuff that is now lying in the corner of my house. Man it was fun though!

I've been checking woot and slickdeals for years, good stuff. My other fave 'deal' website is www.steepandcheap.com

I hooked up a friends Sansa with Rockbox. Excellent firmware, I was able to slap in an 8gig card without any problems.

Given what I have read about the player that I just ordered, it is a 50/50 as to whether or not RB will be compatible. At the price I paid, I won't be too upset either way.

Still sounds like a great deal, Micah. :rolleyes:

It is AWESOME!!

My Sansa e260 just came in today (along with the 8gb sd micro card that I found on slickdeals).

I tried installing the newest version of Rockbox, and it is blowing my mind at what all it put on there. For example, Doom. DOOM!! I have Doom on my mp3 player! Dozens of other games and utilities also were installed automatically...including a stop watch. I love multi-tasking stuff in my range bag :)
