colbyjack
If you really really really want your brass, nobody's going to stop you. I just don't want the match slowed down because of people picking up brass when the next shooter is ready to start. yeah ill pick up my brass then, we paid to shoot so its our match. i think if some guy has to wait on my big butt to pick up my brass so be it. at least its for a good reason. i think a guy would wait or help him pick up his brass for the shooter that just shot. i know i do for people. i think a guy would feel better bout that waiting to shoot, then to be forced to squad with 10 guys in the group and take like 6.5 hours to shoot a 5 stage match..... was that last month frank.... not trying to stir the pot, but for us guys just starting out with limited brass supply and we cherish what we got. its hard to go to a match a give up 1/3 of your brass supply, just to keep things moving. since we got RO's on each stage there should be plenty of people there to help pick up each other's brass. i guess i can understand a area/sectional/national match. but not on a local level. to me local level matches are to learn, practice and fine tune everything. and most of all to have fun period. ive been having more fun this year, been squading with a great group of guys. alot of heckling going on and friendly ribbing just ask joe.... frank good job on the match book. it looks like a fun match. see ya all there. -chris
Franklin D Wolverton
BTT... Currently have the following slots available... Saturday: 51 Sunday: 58 See http://milanpracticalshooting.com for more info. Frank
Franklin D Wolverton
BTT again... we are filling up a little faster than I thought... I know of at least 20-30 more shooters that will show up, but refuse to pre-register (even though it costs $40 instead of $30 if postmarked after September 8th... or walk-in). Available slots (out of 80 per day)... Saturday: 49 Sunday: 56 Also an update about the prize table (some people asked). There won't be one. After better than two months of requesting, all we have received is a (one) lube kit (This is, afterall, just a big level 1 match... not a championship). Therefore the only prizes will be plaques for the winners based on the schedule on the entry form. Frank http://milanpracticalshooting.com

Franklin D Wolverton
BTT again... getting down to about 2 weeks. We are about half full, but I just got a call from the Northern Illinois Section that they are sending 10+ shooters and the registrations are on the way. I don't know if they are shooting one day or both... but they will eat up some slots. I am also sure that there will be 20 or so walk ins. Just a reminder that registrations and/or payment (as well as walk ins) postmarked after September 8th is $40 instead of $30. Juniors pay $20 before the 8th, and full price ($40) after. Right now (not counting the above) we have the following available... Saturday: 44 Sunday: 51 I hope to see a bunch of people at our "poor man's nationals" (since it is the same weekend) Frank http://milanpracticalshooting.com

Franklin D Wolverton
Many... try any hotel by the Quad City Airport and you will be within about 15-20 minutes. We have not selected a "match hotel" for this match, but will for the Illinois Sectional next year. They are building a casino and hotel 5 minutes from the range, but it won't be open in time for this match. Frank

waxman
Looks like we are on the list. Frank, can you tell me if there is going to be chrono stage? never seriosly worked up a load for the wife, this will be her first non club shoot.I always just got her load to about 130pf, and called it close enough. Thanks Dave
Franklin D Wolverton
Nope... no crono this year. Didn't have anyone that wanted to run it for a level I. I'm debating setting one up for all of our club matches next year however, for shooters that want to check their loads (it would not be part of the COF). JThompson
I sent Frank an email and got an auto response that he had a death in the family, so if he is out of contact this is why. I'm very sorry for your loss Frank. I'll come up Fri and help with any last minute stuff and help on Sat if needed. JThompson
Well we got the setup done... I think you guys are going to like the stages. Some of them were changed as they invariably are, but overall I think Frank put together some great stages for the shooters. There was sprinkle all day during setup, but nothing that hindered us... in fact it cooled us down some which everyone appreciated.. I look forward to meeting you guys... I'll be the big guy with the hot pink 98 "Harold Barrel Classic" shrit on. I should be hard to miss. Be sure tosay hello toss an insult about my shirt.... anything. I'm helping the range staff on Sat, may be subbing to give an old soldier a break once in a while. Sorry Tim. Anyway, I'll see you there.... If You're shooting Sunday I'll have on a black T with a stick guy playing the drums. Best, JT Edited September 13, 2008 by JThompson
