gm iprod
Bought a Canon EOS500D - with two Image Stabilising Lenses, 18-55 & 55-210. Plus you can buy after market s]lenses that are wide angled or more zoom if youw nat without busting the bank. OR you can go nuts on the top of the line penses if your requirements are such. But a better body 5D is best for those Picturs to 15MB RAW (44 photos on 4GB) or as low as 500K, which can be jpg'd easily for web content or leave alone for really really nice photos. Movies in three settings. Middle setting is good quality and not too hungry on memory. Excellent on Batteries. Old farts like me can use it. Although 15year olds will get it better. benos
I've updated most all the pics in my webstore with the Nikon D40/Macro Lens, and The Ghetto Studio (with hi-tech $30 ea. light bulbs for it). After learning Curves in Photoshop (thanks to Nik for that) I got some decent pics up there now. http://www.brianenos.com/store/slide-glide.html http://www.brianenos.com/store/be.scale.html http://www.brianenos.com/store/calipers.html http://www.brianenos.com/store/wilson.html be

Also broke down and spent a little money to get a good stable tripod, which was way worth it. (Especially considering what I spent on the camera and lens.) After learning Curves in Photoshop (thanks to Nik for that) I got some decent pics up there now. (But many of the pics hardly took any photoshopping at all.) http://www.brianenos.com/store/slide-glide.html http://www.brianenos.com/store/be.scale.html http://www.brianenos.com/store/calipers.html http://www.brianenos.com/store/wilson.html be
Flexmoney
I've been looking at the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7 link to google search and, perhaps the Fuji F80EXR Needs are similar to BE's. Light box shooting will need to pick out shades/separation of whites. Going for the point and shoot...that has great light box picture taking ability. Thoughts? Subjects might be similar to the container here (without the stuff in the background)...to show separation and color.. (not a great example...this is a poor pic that I grabbed from the net to show the requirement)
benos
I ended up giving the Point/Shoot I bought for that job to my GF. It was just way to tiny and difficult to use for any shots with custom settings. The Nikon SLR and Macro lens just blows the Poiint/Shoot away for light box shooting. Of course the whole setup was a lot more money, but it was way well spent IMO. MY friend, and former professional product photographer, who guided me on those purchases, also advised me to replace the bulbs that came with the light box with expensive ($30.00 ea.!) bulbs. I only found one shop in the entire Phoenix area that stocked them. But they made a dramatic improvement in the white light quality. More white and less purplish. Let me know if you are interested and I'll dig out the model of the bulbs. I didn't try, but I'm sure you can run them down online. be

benos
Sorry it took me so long to see this. On the bulb is: EiKO SP30 /955K 93CRI 5500K I think you just need to tell the camera shop EiKO, SP30. Just checked, there's several sources for them (eiko sp30) on Amazon. be
carbojacob
To buy a new camera can be a very confusing. But according to your purpose I prefer to buy Canon PowerShot SX110 as the best in the market for a compact digital camera. As a brand canon is the best one in the digital camera from many years due to its extra ordinary features. Another thing is that Canon provides the better connectivity facilities which is an unique one as compare with others.
