Joseph796
What damage could be done to a gun (open class - supercomp) that experiences repeated pierced primers? Thanks.
Kingman
generally that is a problem with your load etc being over pressure. If you are getting recurring pierced primers on a frequent basis. I would imagine eventually there could be some damage to the breach face.
L9X25
It could erode the breechface and damage the firing pin hole, possibly leading to increased primer shearing problems.
Jaxshooter
The big thing is it could also damage the operator.
BritinUSA
It can also be caused by a firing pin that is too light or too long. I had this on a replacement firing pin I got for my EAA open gun, went back to a regular firing pin and all was well again.
Kingman
As for the light firing pin. I am not sure how often that is the case in 1911's. I have a extra long Ti firing pin in both my open blasters. I have had problems with rounds sticking and still no pierced primers. But what kind of firing pin are you running.
