redwoods
I am going to start reloading for a 38 super race gun. I am buying an EGW U-Die for sizing, and a Lee Factory Crimp Die. I reload for 9mm and have an extra set of 9mm dies. Since the 38super and 9mm bullets are nearly the same, can I use a 9mm bullet seating die for the super. I will be reloading .356 diameter bullets. I think the seater just touches the bullet and does not form around the case. Correct me if I am wrong. Thanks, Redwoods
L9X25
There is no reason that you cannot use the 9mm seater or crimper for your .38 Super. The sizer is the only die that is different. Since the projectiles are the same diameter, the dies are the same.
HSMITH
Skip the FCD, you don't need it. The standard crimp die works great.

Chris Keen
The FCD makes all the difference ....... it's the EGW-U die I wouldn't mess with on 38 super. Typically the only reason one buys a U-Die is to re-size possible Glock'd brass that may cause problems in tighter chambers.
TonyT
I wouldn't both with the FCD. I have not found the FCD required to reload 9mm, 38 Super, 38 Special, 40 S&W or 45 ACP.
