srodriguez1101
I would like to remove my sight rail on a SX2 and replace it with a Doctor Sight on the barrel. Is this something that needs to milled off? Is it soldered on? Who works on these shotguns? If anyone has done this please advise. Thank you in advance!!!!! S. Mick
I'm betting it's silver soldered or something like that. I wanted to remove mine too but haven't figured it out yet. I may just see how cheaply I can get a Browning Gold barrel if they fit OK.... Mick A27257
srodriguez1101
If I find out or if I find a replacement barrel I will let ya know. I wish I knew someone that worked on these. Thanks, S. Rodriguez
Carbon
I removed my cantilever with a hack saw then had a buddy clean it up on a lathe. Much better sight picture. I suppose you could mill it too. Carl
Mick
If it is silver soldered, why can't it just be heated and removed??? Mick A27257
KentG
If it is silver soldered, why can't it just be heated and removed???Mick A27257 Might be kind of hard on the finish.
P.E. Kelley
At least "hard soldered" is a 850+ degree process. Ruin a finish for sure. Milling a pad within the mount to affix the optic would be my choice. Patrick Edited May 25, 2007 by P.E. Kelley
Spaceghost
I assume you already considered and rejected the idea of using the Arredondo rib mount for the JP/Doctor? It wouldn't be as low but it would save you from hacking the rib.
