Bill:

I have a Benny built .38 Super on a Race Ready for IDPA ESP. IDPA died out around here before I had a chance to try it out. Now my plan is to use it for the provisional single stack division. Can't wait for Virgil's ten round .38 Super mags to hit the market. The mags I have now are tough to seat with 10 rounds.

I am having Benny Hill make a .40 single stack on the race ready frame for Limited 10 division. According to Benny and Virgil Tripp, the new .40 Cobra Mags work flawlessly in the .40 single stack. The gun will be a Caspian frame, STI slide, .40 bull barrel from where ever, etc. Should be fun to shoot.

Maybe the best choice, But not the cheapest!!!!!!!!

I Think they ARE the HOT SETUP !!!!

Blue,

I contend that the Race Ready frame is cheaper:

regular Caspian singlestack frame = $185

+ S&A = $185 + $70 = $255

+ 'smith work to open it up ($50 or $100, depending on how big you want it opened up, on Matt McLearn's website) = $255 + $50/$100 = $305/$355

Race Ready frame = $260 :D

Ron,

Any word from Virgil when those 10 rnd Super mags will be out?

[uS Appendix D7]

For Limited division in the USA, a single-stack gun can legally use a 170mm length magazine. That's about 14 rounds in 40cal, about 16 rounds in 38super - if you're so inclined. Legal to cut and weld since the Sunset of sept 2004.
