Sako92S
Is there any 30rd magazines for AR-10 available modified or factory? Edited October 24, 2006 by Sako92S
Wiking
I am also interested in this. Any long mags for a DPMS lower?
uscbigdawg
On the Bushmaster AR-10, you can use FAL mags (do THEY make 30's?). Don't know they still make it, and/or if it works well. Rich
Paule
Bushmaster dropped these. They were made by Rock River though and they are selling them at least until they run out of parts for them.
Sako92S
I was talking about AR-10 not LAR-10 or BAR-10 or DPMS 308 rifle. AR-10 stands for Armalite
uscbigdawg
Oh. Well since DPMS is the only one that sponsors our matches, I don't think I'll be using a LAR-10, BAR-10 and certainly not an AR-10. That being said, wasn't there an old trick for converting M1A mags into mags for AR-10 type rifles? Again, don't know if these are available in 30's, but something to look at. Rich P.S. Neither does Colt.
TRUBL
You can get M1A mags in 30 round and then convert them to AR10, however, I believe you will find there really are not any sources out there for a 'reliable' 30 round mag for that weapon. Sako92S
Yes, I have tried M1A 30rd blued after market mags and they are junk. BTW we don't have any fireams manufactures as sponsors here in Finland
TommiF
Really? How about CZ, Beretta, Sarzilmaz, STI, Tanfioglio? Handguns are guite well covered but riflesection is totally quiet.... Tommi
benny hill
I welded two 20 rounder's together, used a m1a mag spring & presto, a 34 rd. mag that works fine. These were DPMS 308 mags.
Sako92S
Benny Thanks for the hint. I will try to find good welder and sacrafise couple Armalite magazines.
Wiking
Thanks for all the replies! So the way to go when I have a DPMS is to weld together two mags. Where can the M1A mag spring be obtained?
tverho
I made myself a 40rds AR15 mag by joining two 30rds mags with glassfiber cloth and resin. A lot easier than welding (at least for me) and has held up really good. Must work with AR10 as well. t tommi
