Fireant
I've been invited to attend the ceramony of a local young man that I have helped start shooting USPSA matches. The question is do I need to bring a gift? Is it O.K.? or expected? I've only had 2 other students make it to that point in the last 15 years and they had moved to another state by that time. Thanks. tightloop
If you are close enough to be invited, then I think a gift is appropriate.... Kind of like a wedding...
Bigbadaboom
We are prepping for my sons "Court of Honor" right now. Yes, it is a appropriate to take a gift but it's not "expected".

MikeFoley
Some will bring gifts and some will not. It is appropriate, but not essential. If you want to, then do it, I am certain he will appreciate it. This took several years of work for him and will help him throughout his life. jtielke
Gifts are optional for an Eagle Scout ceremony. At mine I think a little more than half of the people that attended brought gifts. I did not even realize people gave gifts for that so I was pleasantly surprised. I mainly received camping gear, things with the eagle scout emblem or eagles on them, and some cash. BismarckC
A knife is a good idea, another is a good camping hatchet. If he does alot of camping it will be appreciated. When I received my Eagle several of the other guys received hatchets. Obviously that made an impression on me.
