Airic
Heres a pic of the inside of my G22 slide. Right at the ejection port, on the tabs that hook the slide into the frame, there are two small "cuts" like the slide has been hitting something metal and shearing it off. Ive never had a problem with how this gun runs, even with these two cuts. I just now noticed them but im not sure how long they have been there. Ive ran about 10k rounds through the gun, mostly reloads. But lately I have been using Wolf ammo. I checked my mags, none of them appear to be chewed up so I ruled them out. What could the slide be hitting?
rtr
I believe this type of "peening" is common on glocks, no cause for concern.
diehli
From http://www.glockfaq.com/maintenance.htm: What are the shiny wear marks/divots on the bottom of my slide? Those wear marks are called "slide peening". They occur when the top of the locking block contacts the bottom of the slide when firing. Slide peening occurs primarily and most noticeably on .40 caliber models. It is perfectly normal and it will wear to a certain amount and then stop. These wear marks will not have any effect on the gun's reliability or accuracy. If the edges are too sharp you can smooth them out with a file or stone

Joe D
Glocks with the new style locking block don't get the peening marks. They don't hurt anything unless they get too deep. Then they will cut your mag lips.
