bootcamp
Getting ready to purchase a Rock Island framed custom 2011 open. I believe I read somewhere they take Para mags? I've also read on here some folks have not had any issues with using STI/MBX style mags. Gun is chambered in 9mm major. What do you think? Or should I just purchase Para style mags? OPENB
I had a 40 RIA wide body gun that I could use some of my STI/SV mags in. Some were too tight and wouldn't drop free, the others worked fine. So, in my case, I had to try 12 mags to get 6 that worked. The factory mags, made by Mecgar, were too short to add extensions to and still lock in the gun. asierra350
Just purchase Para style mags, MBX makes them for the para pattern
shred
The mag catch is in a slightly different place, so assume "no". Also Para (& RIA) mags with the steep top usually get an extra round on board. There are STI-for-Para mags and tubes around with the slot relocated, but I'm pretty sure none have been made in at least a decade.
David.Hylton
I use these in my RIA 9mm limited gun with TF extensions: https://mec-gar.com/shop/magazines/para-ordnance/para-ordnance-p18-38-super-17-round/ They run great without adjustments.
