Nc1911
I am experimenting with a DW 1911 in 40 s&w. with the factory 40 cal magazines. The loads that I run in my limited Bul armory ( 1.200” OAL) wont fit, being too long. has anyone had experience in running 10 mm mags in these guns? Seems that the 10 mm mags will accept the longer rounds so I can load one length 40 ammo. Edited January 29 by Nc1911 Corrected spelling
tomjerry1
That's all that I use, Tripp, but other good mags out there.
Nc1911
Thanks tomjerry1, I run Tripp mags exclusively in my 45: great mags. i had trouble with the Trip mags in my 9mm because when dropping a mag with a few rounds left in it a round fell out or got lodged in the mag well due to the cut out front of the magazine where the feed ramp meets the mag. i was told it is a problem on 9mm due to the short/ small diameter round. Thanks for your input, I am going with the Trip 10mm.
392heminut
Tomjerry1 is correct! I also only use 10mm mags in my STI 40 S&W Trojan. Never had a problem doing so.
Dr Mitch
10mm mags are the way to go. Tripp and Wilson both make consistently great magazines.

Thanks,I’ll have to go with the 9 round mags because the 10 round won’t fit in the box for USPSA rules.
tomjerry1
That's right, Single Stack, I'm L10.
michael b.
They used to make the "System" mags. 10 rounders cut down to fit in the box for single stack. Check out this thread...
JayDee
+1 for Tripp system (also heard them called “Corey” mags) that feature a 10mm tube with beveled plastic baseplate to be SS legal and still hold ten rounds. I use them for SS 40 minor but would also work for L10.
80seriesaddict
+2 for Tripp mags. I have limited experience in the .40 cal 1911 game but they turned an unreliable.40 into a reliable.40.
