Jasonub
thats expensive but if it will last more than 4 years it will pay for itself. problem is i live in another country
AlamoShooter
Are you going to learn how to fit one and start with the $90 Even SV says they are not any less likely to break. Just get the $50 one from Shooters Conection or Brian
Jasonub
thanks for the advice. Im thinking of putting a single sided safety sti or ed brown. is there any durability issues on STI safety? Which is better or more durable? STI, ED brown, or kings? thanks how about CMC LINK TO CMC SAFETY Edited March 8, 2006 by Jasonub
Jasonub
thanks, while waiting, i had my old safety tig welded. shot it about 600 rounds and it still holds great! now im thinking not getting a replacement since the weld seems to have soved the problem. DougCarden
Ahh...you sound like me! I would suggest getting the new part and using it, and keeping the TIG part as a backup or spare. Ask me how I know, and it wouldnt have anything to do with the welded part breaking the night before a big match, and cannibalizing all my 1911s to find one that would work for the next day...... AlamoShooter
My first after 15 years, Shred says he has broken several. The Welding makes metal harder,= less flexibl. = more Brittal like glass brittal. could work for years or seconds. my safety felt diferent when I put it 'ON' to go back in to the holster on steel challenge runs. If I did not feal it I would have put a loaded gun in my holster with a non working safety. = No thanks
DougCarden
Jason, just one safety, but it was a "swenson" winged warrior that I guarantee had a void in it from the casting. I have had great luck with Ed Brown safeties. DougC

Singlestack
Another Swenson bites the dust. My ambi-side Swenson broke off last Sunday at a match. I was shooting free-style and I am right handed. The damn thing just fell off. Oh well, I knew it was gonna happen sooner later. Ed Brown and a Brazos Krebs thumb shield on order.
BrianATL
My swenson broke off last week as well.
