Another IDPA contradiction.  8.1.7.2 should make it clear that brass magwells are fine.

As has been noted, an easy way to address this would have been:

ESP:

Weight, size maximum, power factor minimum, in addition:

ESP: excluded modifications:  X, Y, Z

All other modifications are permitted.

I think they just forgot to update the match admin book. 

 

The rule book doesn't say their illegal. From what our AC has said, ESP rules are fit box make weight. 

 

s#!t we can have comps and ported barrels now. Who cares about a couple oz's at this point.

I think you are exactly right.  The rulebook is pretty clear on what you can do in ESP.
