TheOtherErik
A friend of mine has a glock 24c that he wants to use for open divison in IPSC. He needs to know what scope mounts will work with what race holsters. He currently uses a ghost holster for limited.
Custom Glock Racing
You can cut a ghost to work with a Carver or THE mount and it will still be useable for limited with a different nylon screw.
Flexmoney
Just checking...his G24c does have the accesory rail, right?
TheOtherErik
Yeah it has a rail. However, won't anything mounted to the rail interfer with a holster. The Leupold looks like it will work... anyone use one of them?
Custom Glock Racing
Any mount that uses the rail will need a modified holster.
Flexmoney
Matt, Any chance you could post some pictures? If you post them on your site, I can link them.
TheOtherErik
ok so what good mounts don't use the rail....
Flexmoney
There are no good mounts that don't use the rail. We recently purchased an Aimtech mount through Brownell's. {Note: This isn't the "Tiger Shark", which mounts differently.} This mount fits into the new CR Speed 2001 for Glock that we just got...no modifications. I don't have a T.H.E. mount handy to try in the new CR Speed. I haven't handled a Carver. All three mount to the rails in a similar manner. chp5
Flex - how do you like that Aimpoint mount? Does it sit too high? Thanks.
Flexmoney
I like it just dandy. It's just high enough that a person could leave the stock sights on and still get the slide on and off. So...co-witnessing is an option (if that appeals to anyone). It the couple of matches that I shot with it...when I did my part...it did all I asked of it. ErikW
Not to be a nit-picker, but co-witnessing just isn't possible with that setup. It's co-mounting. Co-witnessing is having the iron sights and dot sight aligned, so you see the dot on your front sight.
Flexmoney
My bad. I've never co-witnessed anything in my life. I always get in trouble using non-pistol terms.
chp5
The Carver mounts look very nice http://bb-enterprise.biz/
mcoliver
Is there a correct location on how far forward or backward the scope is mounted? From Flex's pic of the mount, it looks like the scope will be much further in front than the ones mounted in 1911's.
chp5
The Carver mounts seem to get the scope further back, but none as far back as the 2011s.

Nik Habicht
Cy, Got a dremel and bench grinder? Hack away ---- but make sure you have the white plastic adjustment screw where you want it --- cause you'll be hacking it too. If I find some time I'll take a picture of my holster and gun...
