40 load, with pictures.

Good Evening,

 

I believe I found a good load for my Tanfoglio Limited Custom Xtreme.

 

1.130”

180 Grain Blue Bullets

4.5 grains VV N320

170-171 power factor 

 

VV website says max is 4.1 at 1.126, but that won’t get me needed power factor. Is this load ok?

I use 4.8 gr. VV N320 behind a 180 gr. Zero JHP loaded to 1.1350 out of my STI Limited 40 S&W. No over pressure signs; been loading this for decades.

Many 40 major loads are not in “the book”.

I use 4.9 of 320 behind a 180 blue bullet or xtreme plated. Get about 950 velocity. 1.15 oal. Out of a Brazos limited.

That is pretty close to my 4.8 gr VV M320 behind a 180 gr Zero JHP out of a Nowlin 5” barrel in an STI. I am sold on N320; might be a bit more expensive than some others, but I have found it to be rock stable and low standard deviation. Oh yeah, it is clean burning which helps keep everything running.
