Mounting an action camera to over-the-ear hearing protection. Thoughts?

Hey all,

 

I frequently RO indoors and I've noticed the ringing picking up in my ears even with the custom-molded plugs I wear. I figure it's time to switch over to plugs under electronic muffs on indoor ranges.

 

I'm curious if anyone has found a good way to rig up a GoPro-style camera mount on their ear pro? I know things like hat mounts exist, but I've always found them to be unbalanced and uncomfortable when paired with muffs. I'm happy to drill/glue/whatever if the end result is reliable.

i zip tied a sony action cam mount to the top center of the strap that goes over your head of one pair of my muffs.  works great but have to watch out for ceilings, popup tents and the like that will catch it.

 

i screwed/bolted a gopro mount to the bill of one of my shooting hats.  do it close to your head vs end of the bill and it's pretty stable.

Buddy of mine has a hat mount that mounts *above* the bill on the front of the hat.
