Trader
Does it matter which direction the rear sight is removed? Thanks
Tok36
I do not believe that it dose. I always knock them out to the Left and then install them from the Left side to the Right. If you look real close at the base of the sight, sometimes you can see the marks from when they drove them in at the factory. So i do it the way the factory seams to do it. Bench
I don't know specifically why but I've always pushed them out to the left and put them in from the left. If you are putting in a Dawson sight look at the bottom for the arrow which indicates the proper direction for installation. Maybe it's the European way of all things "sights". Trader
Thanks, but I discovered I do not have the correct allen wrench ( probably metric). I will go to Home Depot tomorrow to find some. If not then I will remove it the XD way, with a cut off wheel....
rowdyb
The gun is made in the Czech Republic, so yeah, things are metric.
KlausN
2mm if I recall correctly and it will still not fit perfectly therefore you might want to use a heat gun to heat the thread locker to prevent stripping the head. Do you want to sell your old s2 sight ;o). Asking for a friend.
Trader
Klaus, I would have given you the sight but I think the screws were pre stripped. I had to cut it in half with a cut off wheel. That after I went to HD and bought metric allen wrenches.... I hate allen screws...
