S&W matte (re) finish?

I had a so called "master" revolver-smith in Arizona refinish my revo with a bead blast finish, and it looks like ****. Does anybody know a smith that can refinish it so it looks like the factory matte finish?

This guy wants another crack at it, but I'm thru with him. He's been around for years, and I think it's time for him to retire.

I've used well used glass bead to refinish mine in the past with good results duplicating the finish.  Some hand buffing afterwards gets it damn close..  Maybe it was blasted with to course a finish??  Do you have pics?

If your gun was blasted with new beads at high pressure it will leave a rough surface,  if the finish is not too rough it may have been a coverage issue that could be remedied by additional blasting. I have seen a stainless gun that was refinished with a soda blast, looked great. Rather than looking for a gunsmith you might look for a bead or soda blasting business that specializes in manufacturing applications.
