Dry fire plus laser - good idea ?

Any one use a laser to assist dry fire training.  I've seen some that insert in chamber. Others on rail.  Seems to be options for laser sensitive targets as well

I'm not a competetive shooter by any means and don't plan to be, but I find the laser to be an excellent aid to dry fire practice, especially for trigger control.

 

I've recently added an RMR to my carry pistol and it serves the same function for dry fire, more or less, the laser works better at 20+ yards because it shows the trigger/grip control wobble at distance better than the RMR.

 

My laser is rail mounted, BTW, and that's how I carry it.

CoolFire Trainer has the CO2 dryfire system with optional laser that goes on end of the barrell. I played with it and looked to me I was looking for laser instead looking at sights

I use a combination of a red dot and a sirt pistol.  The laser and dot make it very easy to see if you are moving the pistol when you press the trigger.

I seem to remember a system that incorporated reactive targets that would beep when "hit" by the laser. I can't recall where it was available or what platforms it would adapt to, but I like that such a system would give audible feedback (like shooting steel) so your concentration stayed on your sights rather than looking at the target.
