warhog
Can I safely shoot major in my 2011 DVC S 9mm with a spring and guide rod change? If so, anyone have any load recommendations?

Posvar
You will most likely void the warranty from what I’ve heard.
davsco
i asked sti a while back about shooting major in my 9mm steelmaster (predecessor to dvs-s). they said no prob with a spring change. i'd just contact sti and confirm it's still ok with the dvc-s and what spring weight they recommend. i never did shoot major thru it, just ended up getting their dvc open in 38 super. NOSHMJ
I shot major out of my DVC steel for one season after contacting STI and asking about it. They said to change the recoil spring weight to a 10lb, and should be good to go. I did just that, and had no issues besides the gun being a little snappy. The following year, I recieved a call back from STI telling me to stop shooting major through the steel gun because too many people were cracking comps and slides. So back to a 8lb spring and minor PF and steel challenge only for that gun.
