The frenchies are on the board !

Je détest les grenouilles!!  :)

You turkeys might be taking over the forum, but I'm going to get France organized if I have beat half of your countrymen senseless to do it.  There will be ORDER, ORDER I say in France.

While I'm at it I'm going to show you boys how to cook Salmon.  Either you frenchies serve it raw or grill it until it's so dry you could play hockey with it.  It's an abomination.  This just can't go on...

;)

I hope folks realize I'm just giving the Frenchies a hard time here.  :)  I wouldn't do it if I didn't like them.  I'm glad you guys are here, really!  It says a lot for the Forum now that it has become a worldwide destination.

Thanks for the culinary support Flex.  I really thought that I was missing out on something important before I went to France, but it turns out that our local cuisine has become so cosmopolitan that much of the good stuff from around the world has already made it here.  The really unique part about French food is that good food is everywhere.  The French demand it.  You can get better food at a $7 French buffet than at many so-called 4-star restaurants in the US.

Vive la France!!

Hey carlos,

Most of shooters uses Vectan powders, few uses Vithavuori.

About the guns, it depends on the class.

Near 90 % of open shooters uses 1911 system (SV, BULM5, SPS) the rest uses Tanfoglios.

In the standard class, 1911 system is about 60 % the rest are Tanfos, Glocks, CZs.

Hey Eric

Since you spend a few days here, you became a specialist in french food

And what about french wine ?

Hi Julien,

I thought the vino was great.  What I couldn't get over was just how CHEAP it was.  The people I was with couldn't get over how expensive wine is in the US. (Due to "Sin" taxes)  I'm trying to figure out how to ship cases of the stuff back home the next time I go over.  I actually liked the beer too.  I wish we could get Kronenberg here.

By the way, any idea on what's required to bring a gun to France for a match?  Do I need a permit?  Any other details?  You have to store your handguns at your shooting club, correct?

Thanks!

Eric,

No we don't have to store handguns at the range (this is in the UK), but at home in a safe (must have a proof of safe purchase).

We'll investigate for temporary gun importing.

Would be pleased to shoot with you.

Travis,

Poodle's haircut

Are you talking about those old ladies' short and curly haircut ? If so, I don't know if we invented it, but it seems to have spread worldwide, even in the USA (remember Barbra Bush ?).

If we really did create that, please accept all of our apologies. But, if you ever come and visit us, we'll show you so many great looking (and nice too) girls (with the haircut you want) that you might not want to go back

PS: no offense to the Bush family: a poodled Barbra is way much better than a stylish Hilary...
