Superkaratemonkeyfighter
What’s the deal ? 40cal ,New gun with the thin buffer in stalled from factory lasted maybe 200 rounds of 170pf ammo. It’s Just weird, my shadow 2’s still have the original buffets in them and still look great With 130pf loads.
zzt
I was advised by CZC not to use the buffers in my TS. I haven't had any problems with 172PF loads. I'd check your recoil spring. It sounds like it is too light. Even if it came from the factory, it could still be wrong.
loaded605
I took the buffer out of mine as well after the first one shredded about 500 rounds in. It is not necessary. 8,000 rounds later it is fine.
cheby
I started using the buffers after I broke two rear sights , countless slide stops (Every 3K) and a barrel (after 30K). Since I started using the buffers, I break the slide stops around 8-10K. No problems with anything else. I have to replace them every 500rd, essentially every practice. The thin ones are no good after 200rd. I bought a lot of them and just keep on replacing. It is worth to me. I just bought a 2011 and plan on using the buffers as well. When I shot Production with Shadow 2 , the buffers lasted for 20K. 40SW is a different story.
