RAZZ
I searched and found a good deal of info on the different brands of magazine extensions, but I wanted to ask those with experience...Are the Briley extensions that much (twice the $) better than a choate or tac-star tube? I know Briley makes quality stuff, and I'm not opposed to spending more $, I'm just placing a Brownells order and could add in the Choate tube if it's decent. Thanks. mike.45
Razz, I have bought all 3 tubes you mention and by far the best quality was the briley tube - a lovely bit of engineering but I think probably overengineered for the purpose. I found Tacstars a bit rough on the finish but Choate were well finished and better quality and thats what I would buy. Good luck
George
+1 on Choate.
benny hill
SRM tubes, excellent in & out. Choate has a weld seam inside that sucks.
Mistral404
Speed Shooters Inc. --- DMW--Dave Metal Works made a great extension for my Benilli.
spd522
I have a Briley for my 870 and it is very well made. We had problems with Choates before and had them come apart on 870 Remingtons used for police work. No experience with the TacStar or SRM. I am considering an extended tube for my Benelli to replace the factory extension. I will probably go with DMW for it.
HI5-O
Another one for DMW (Benelli), got mines from Shooter's Connection. It looks and fits well.
RAZZ
FWIW, I picked up a Briley tube. Very well made and works perfectly, but, as mentioned earlier, it does bear an uncanny resemblance to a mag lite.
