tomv
I have an Infinity Open gun in 9 mm which does not have any barrel ports, just the conventional 2 hole comp. I've read some older threads here on this topic expressing conflicting views regarding whether or not ports are desirable. I haven't shot this gun yet so I can't tell you how it shoots as is but would like to hear current thinking with regard to having SVI port the barrel or not. 3gunDQ
Does it have a hybricomp barrel with no holes or bull barrel with no holes?
Gooldylocks
Shoot it first. Don't need to throw money at something that might not even be an issue.
3gunDQ
Either way hybricomp barrel: my guess is they will more than likely agree to do it... it will cost a lot, it will take weeks or months to get it back. Bull barrel: $100 says they won’t do it but will offer to build you a new top half for the tune of $3500. tomv
It is a hybrid AET barrel. They will port it for $50.00 with 3 to 5 week lead time.
Fo0
I had the same question I asked a gunsmith about holes in a hybrid barrel and he said it like asking do you want an open gun or a limited gun.
