We are grateful to KE Arms for stepping up as Title Sponsor. StealthyBlagga
The match is full but we are running a wait list - we always expect a few entrants to fall away, so get on the list and keep you fingers crossed for someone else's misfortune Edited August 15, 2017 by StealthyBlagga
StealthyBlagga
For those who have entered and been accepted into this match, here is an idea of what to expect when you arrive so you can plan for the best possible match experience. For those of you unfamiliar with Arizona, it is a desert state. The sun and heat can be extreme, even at the end of September, so come prepared; bring sunscreen, a hat and plenty to drink. It will be critical to remain hydrated throughout the day. We will also be at the tail end of monsoon season, so humidity and torrential rain is a possibility. Plan accordingly. The match staff will be constructing the stages all day on Friday September 29th. By mid-afternoon we hope to have everything built so competitors can do their pre-match walkthroughs. If we are still working on a stage when you arrive, please give us the space we need to get it completed before you start looking at it. All shooters will have to sign-in before shooting. Our registration folks will be open for business on the Friday afternoon, and we would ask that you sign-in then if you possibly can so as to minimize the number of folks we have to process on the Saturday morning. There are 8 squads of 15 shooters (including ROs, who will move and shoot with their squad). The squads will start on their respective stage number (i.e. Squad 1 starts on Stage 1 etc.) and then advance through the stages in order. We are scheduling 75 minutes for each squad to be briefed, complete a stage and get to the next stage. We know this is ambitious, but if everyone hustles we expect to be finished by 5pm. Stage 1 will not be a competitive stage, but rather a sponsor hospitality/demo/rest/refreshment area. When your squad arrives, you will have 75 minutes to relax, talk with our generous sponsors, and rehydrate/refuel. This is also where we will be distributing your prize bags. Unfortunately we will NOT have time to stop the match for lunch, so we suggest you bring appropriate sustenance and plan to eat on the run. We will try to organize a food vendor, but there are no guarantees at this time. We have been asked if suppressors are allowed. Unlike USPSA, there is no prohibition on suppressors in our rules. HOWEVER, we cannot guarantee our timers will pick up your suppressed shots so we will be authorizing the RO to "tap" the timer when they think you are finished. This may mean the time you get is not as accurate as it might be, but this will not be grounds for a reshoot. We suggest you make your choice of equipment accordingly. We have also been asked if a select-fire submachine gun is OK. Again, there is no prohibition on these weapons, but they must be fired in semi-auto mode only. If your subgun inadvertently slips into full-auto or burst mode, there will be a +30 second penalty per occurrence, and we reserve the right to DQ competitors for unsportsmanlike conduct in the case of repeat offending. We won't have time to patch up targets that get deliberately shredded. Lastly, we will be sending out the stage designs a few days before the match. The stages are being designed with the capabilities of a PCC in mind. Unlike a regular handgun match, you can expect to encounter targets of a size and distance appropriate to these weapon systems. Understanding how your PCC shoots out to 200 yards is likely to be helpful. Those of you who have shot major matches before will know that pushing 120 shooters through 8 stages in one day is going to be challenging. We will be grateful for your cooperation and understanding as we work to keep the match on schedule. If this event is as successful as we hope it will be, our plans for future years will be to increase the number of days, maybe give you a half-day schedule, and to move towards a formal post-match, finish-based prize table. That's it for now. I will try to keep posting here in case folks are not getting our emails. Edited September 3, 2017 by StealthyBlagga

ChuckS
Looks like a challenging match. How far were the longer shots? Maybe next year... (Stage 4: The "right way" was to engage but miss the activator?)
StealthyBlagga
Longest shots were a pair of IPSC Metric steel at 187 yards in Stage 8. The pink Popper on Stage 4 was a No-Shoot (you were aiming for the golf ball on top). Hitting the Popper activated the moving No-Shoot paper targets.
