10mmdave
Okay, enough of looking for a load over on the "flatgun" section I'm looking for a 165-170 pf load for USPSA Revo class (I do need to be 165 or over don't I ??) All this talk here about revo masters and sectional shoots etc etc I figured I might as well try it. I have 155, 180 and 200 grain heads, A stock S&W 610 with a 6.5 inch barrel (wish it was a 5 inch) Looking at 10mm cases right now as the 40's I loaded don't work (more on that in another post) Looking at using up some Titegroup powder (I know, I complained about this pwdr earlier) 231, power pistol. Thanks for any info you may have. DaveP
Jerry V
Dave here's mine: 10mm win brass Fed SP match primers 180gr Berry's RN 5.8gr W231 I know what you mean, loads run about 110-120 fps slower out of my 610 (4")compared to what is listed in the load books. MikeFoley
My 4" 610 makes major PF with: Zero 180 gr. JHP Federal GM100M primers Starline Brass 4.8 gr. VV N320 BTW, this is very close to my flatgun load.

I use that 5.8 grains of 231 under a 200 grn LTC for bowling pins. I get a 200+ pf out of this same
Jerry V
Dave, I need to chrono. again, here's the reason why. I was using 5.6gr w/180gr West Coast RNFP and was getting 932fps. I switched to Berry's and got 921fps, a little too close 916 (165 PF) So I bumped up to 5.8 (listed as max.) to make sure I don't have any problems making major. But as a bonus, the new load's accuracy is more consistant. I plan on running the load through a chrono at the Speed Steel match this Sun. I'll let you know. fomeister -- that's interesting, but every gun is different. I probably do need to try different powders, thanks for the info. FL Wheeler
I used 180 Ranier, 4.7 Titegroup, aveage 976 fps for a 175 PF. 4" 610. I had to go with winchester primers because the Federals were flattening out from the pressure
10mmdave
I used 180 Ranier, 4.7 Titegroup, aveage 976 fps for a 175 PF.4" 610. I had to go with winchester primers because the Federals were flattening out from the pressure <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Dang !?!?! flattened primers at 175 Are you using 40 brass or 10mm ? Loading long or to 40 OAL ? AND......are you using a frame mtd firing pin or an old style ? (I ask this last because I wonder if you mean "pushed out" primers and not flattened, just wondering)

Carmoney
I worked up a major load for my 646 before I decided to let my son use that gun (and at age 12 he's better off shooting minor): 185-gr. Lasercast RN, 4.3 gr. of TG = 937 fps (ave) over my chrono for 173 p.f. Regular Federal primers, obviously. Worked just fine for me. Mike

Mike <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks Mike, that load looks like a keeper, course I might go as lite as 4.0 of TG under a 180 grn lead load for my 6.5 inch 610. But then again I'm starting out with 10mm case so maybe I'll go as high as 4.5, (untill I get this .40 ignition thing fixed) Jeez, just remembered I have some 220 grn Westcoast heads, wonder how those will work course the arc of flight might be a bit much.
