All mags were full.. reloaded, did not get new mag fully seated due to spring tension etc. First shot mag fell out.... Virginia timing so really only needed 6 shots, maybe few extra. Spring tension would have been a lot less, Now I need to practice live fire mag changes to ensure I seat them hard enough. Dry fire with empty mags does not really prepare for this.... Think to win, not just to shoot accurately, involves so many variables and eleminating as many as possible each time. I did recover very well and placed third on the second stage. Spring tension would have been a lot less, my M.O. is to load all mags going on my belt chock full, then take one round out. this goes for pistol & rifle. i see lots of folks try to jam in completely full mags, either way too much effort, or they just drop out. glad you got back on your game!
