TennJeep1618
I purchased my 1050 almost a year ago and I disassembled it this morning for the 10K round cleaning and lubing, when I noticed what appear to be casting voids in the indexing lever cam slot. I'm about to email Dillon about it, but has anyone else seen anything like this?
lefty o
i havent noticed anything that bad on mine. its most definately not the highest quality casting though. with oyurs, it probably wont ever affect it, but id not be super pleased with it. oteroman
Any reason for it to fail QC?Impeding operation? Look we're the defect is, out of sight. My 1050 has a few too. Would yo pay to have a billet 1050??Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
TennJeep1618
I doubt it will affect operation. I'm going to clean, lube, and use it until I hear back from Dillon. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
shriner
Fill with JB WELD and file ?
oteroman
It is not in plain sight. Do you have any casting imperfection in plain sight or causing problems with operation? If not what do you want Dillon to do?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
lefty o
id guess the main concern is, if thats what you can see of the casting, how bad is it internally?
TennJeep1618
I got an email back from Dillon today and they said it was normal and would never be a structural problem. I don't like it, but it didn't affect the 10K rounds I loaded before cleaning, nor the 2K I loaded afterwards. I guess if it bothers me in the future, I'll take shriner's advice and fill the voids with JB Weld. I did that once on a Rem 700 bolt with casting voids and it worked well.
