silicon/carbide, aluminum oxide

I used JB weld and two different brands of 2 part epoxy.  I didn't see a noticeable difference in adhesion or wear in any of the three.  As noted previously, meticulous prep is the key.

JB Weld was the easiest medium to work for me, seemed easier to spread and didn't harden as quickly.  However, that might be because it was  my third attempt at applying the Si carbide, and had a good game plan on what order to apply.  It's not difficult, practice on a surface to gauge application thickness and apply the grit.  It's really a simple, easy process.

Any grip job gurus out there?

Finally went for it. I'll give an update sometime this summer on how it's holding up. 0291fd2a0b92cd50764e86e30a71bdbe.jpg

Any update on durability? 🧐

I shot this gun all last season until switching to Limited after Area 8. So, after about 12,000 rounds fired and daily dryfire since doing the grip job, it's nearly as grippy as when I first applied. I'll post an updated picture when I get a chance.

Since I first tried this in the middle of last summer, I've since done all my guns. Id never go back to having to mess with the stick on grips. I prefer the 36 grit, doesn't get gummed up with dirt and skin as easily.
