sophiasmith
Has anyone had any experience with cleaning nickel-plated brass with stainless steel media?? Will the media remove the nickel plating quicker than the dry media??
Zoomy
Stainless media will remove a little nickel every time that it is tumbled. It will start the edges and after a couple of tumbles you might see some brass showing. Edited July 7, 2016 by Zoomy
armydad
I've SS tumbled nickel plated and after the first time, have not noticed any visible change/degradation in the plating. I've yet to ss tumble the brass a second time, so cannot weigh in on 2 or more tumble sessions.
EDA
I stainless tumble the Speer 9mm +P nickel brass. Looks great. I use just a bit less lemishine compared to standard brass (1/2 amount). Same amount of Dawn. I also tumble just a bit shorter timewise too.
trgt
Once or so fired nickel I don't even both with the pins at first, soap and water in the tumbler and it looks like new. I think about pins if the nickel isn't getting cleaned.
