TS basepads from Springer Precision

Is it normal for the SP bases to not have a hole in the bottom to allow a tool to be inserted? You know, to push the locking plate/spring out of the way for disassembly?

I've found the CZ Custom pads are easier to break down and clean in the field. Springer's have a small hex screw that can get lost and are hard to get apart.

That can be a bonus though. I have had the CZ Custom base pads disassemble upon dropping them. Then, have to search for all the parts. I have the edges secured with electrician's tape and about to paint the locking plate yellow to find it easily on the ground.
