Dirtchevy841
Need a good recipe for 40s&w load for target rounds for an xds and s&w 40. Don't want to waste my n320 on rds for this. Want to keep that for my comp rds. Powder suggestions and grains if anybody has any.

himurax13
Well every barrel is different. Some like longer OAL's, some like it shorter. I would use the ladder method, going up .2g at a time and using a chronograph to measure your results. When you get close to the velocity you desire, then you can experiment with OAL and crimping to tighten up your groups if you are loading for a specific pistol. It is generally a bad idea to make huge batches without doing some test loads first. That being said, 4.2g of tightgroup at 1.125 OAL with your setup should be close to what you need.
