Forrest Halley
Is the P320 like an M&P where a .357/.40 and a 9mm can share the same slide? What is actually required to change from 9 to .357/.40? Simple barrel swap? Or are the springs different? Thanks!
Forrest Halley
Nobody has any experience with caliber conversion? I curious if you absolutely need the whole kit. Thank for any input.
usa259
I bought a caliber conversion kit, not to change calibers, only to change from full size to compact. Of course in my case, there were many differences mostly dealing with length. The one difference I wasn't expecting was the guide rod hole in the slide was larger in the compact slide. In your case I would suspect the barrel hole in the slide might be larger for the 40 than the 9mm. Any local shops near you with both in stock? Sig Customer Service? I've read in one of the 320 posts that the slides are different weights...
thejez
from this youtube video it looks like you swap out the grip and the slide. Only the "gun" part is re-used.
usa259
And I would thinking the barrel and spring/ guide rod combination...

I was told only the P229 can use both 9mm and .40 barrels in the same slide.
bountyhunter
Nobody has any experience with caliber conversion? I curious if you absolutely need the whole kit. Thank for any input. I have a 226 bought in .40 that I shoot 9mm from using a 40-9 conversion barrel. AFAIK, you can go from .40 to 9mm (changing barrel and mags only) but not the other way around. Steve Moneypenny
There is also a difference in the weight of the 40 slide vs the 9mm slide.
