redneckram
Tried loading some 40's with Unique. Has anyone had trouble with consistent metering on Dillon 550B with this powder?
noylj
Just so you know, Unique is accurate out to 50 yards even with some inconsistent metering. You should be able to hold to +/- 0.2gn and that will keep an accurate load accurate. The Dillon measure is not as consistent as my Lee PPM, Lee Pro Auto-Disk, or Hornady L-N-L measures, but I have never had any issue with Unique in the Dillon measure not giving me accurate loads. redneckram
Just accuracy was great with it I have no complaints there but the inconsistency in FPS bugged me
rustybayonet
I am a unique fan. On my 550, I run +/- .1 I've used it in .380, 9mm, shotgun and it is the secret of my wet dream .45 acp rounds.
bfalcon00
I am a unique fan. On my 550, I run +/- .1 I've used it in .380, 9mm, shotgun and it is the secret of my wet dream .45 acp rounds. I love it in 38 special and have been really tempted to try it in 45. I use red dot currently, but would be nice to double down on a powder for both. JoeDean
Love Unique but, the last I saw was about a year ago for $35 lb. and I don't love it that much! 6 grs./200 gr. SWC gets 815 fps and cuts a big ragged hole at 25 yards out of my Sig P220. Maybe some more will be made eventually. TacticalReload
When I was trying to drop a charge of 4.6gr of it in my 550, I was noticing some inconsistent metering (I know it's not a static issue since I live in FL). However, I still find it to be pretty accurate regardless. I figured I would use up what I have and then start working on a load with a different powder... haven't decided which yet. I'll most likely change to a coated bullet at the same time so I'll be starting from scratch again, which is annoying.
