Comp Weight?

Was wondering how much does the weight of the comp effect it's usability? I'm working on putting a aluminum one of my Shadow right now for a open build and a lot of material has been removed so far to get it too look better and a little more will need to come off for function? Think this will make much of a difference?

Yes! The weight of the comp makes a huge difference, once you've shot an aluminum or Ti comp, even the lightest steel comp feels like a turd on a stick!

Good to know, I was more worried about the comp being to light, thinking the heavier comp may slow the unlocking timing down and thus the slide speed.

I'm building this gun out of sp01 shadow so I have a shorter slide than the normal TS/czechmate and don't what to beat it to death to fast.

light is good if you can do it.

heavy comp takes to much out of recoil and can really can mess with timing and spring weights.

K thanks Staurt, I should have time this weekend to get some more work done on it and I'll report back when I get it all finished up.

Got the comp done for the most part might clean it up a little more later, Might not be the prettiest one i've seen but should get the job done. Started out as a maverick comp I cut off the bottom part that contains guide rod and cut some recessed squares in the back so it slips inside the sp-01 frame.

Weight comes in at: 1.4ozs
