Help IDPA/IPSC/STEEL/USPSA

This may sound like a stupid question but when I see all of you guys talking about IDPA/IPSC/STEEL/USPSA etc, what do they mean.  I'm figuring they are competitions and stuff but just wanted to know what they stand for.  Maybe someone could help.  Thanks

IDPA = International Defensive Pistol Association

IPSC = International Practical Shooting Confederation

USPSA = United States Practical Shooting Association

Steel = Steel shooting
