habba8
Looking for suggestions on how to remove stripped screw before I do more damage. Thanks
cjdaniel78
I presume the allen is stripped and not that the screw is just spinnnig because the threads are stripped. Try gluing the allen wrench in the screw. I've had this work on stripped allen screws in aircraft instruments. I've also had it fail. If it fails, drill. vixty
Use an easy out
habba8
Easy out was my first thought. Hope they make one that small. Drilling is not an option with the sight on the gun. I forgot to mention, I used blue threadlocker on the screw.

johnbu
Heat the slide with a heat gun, then try again If no heatgun, pop it in the oven at 450 for 10 min. Really, heat will expand the hole faster than the screw. If you put "red" on, you need like 550f 20 min and unscrew while hot.
nhjeffs
Odds are you rounded the Allen wrench. Grind the end down, make the wrench a little shorter, to get some fresh edges on it.
Intercooler2
Pinch a Latex/Nitrile glove between the wrench and screw. The other option is using a Torx that can be tapped into the opening.
EngineerEli
Lots of good ideas here! Where were they all last week when I had to drill the set screw out of my Stock II factory front sight last week? LOL. BTW, as long as you don't lean on the drill too hard, and with such a little bit you shouldn't, the hard chromed slide is much harder than the set screw, you can drill it out in place without damaging the slide. That is what I had to do last week.
habba8
Well..... I drilled the screw out and to my amazement, I found another screw and worked it into the remaining threads and voila, Good to go!
