underlug
What is the correct OAL for the 200 grain Precision Round nose bullet in .45 caliber? Any suggestions for a USPSA major load with Titegroup or Clays?
tightloop
I always loaded them as long as they would fit and work thru my mags...about 1.
spd522
My 200 Precisions are loaded to 1.265. They run fine in both my Para and Springfield. Also worked in a couple of Kimbers I tried them in. Can't help you with the load data as I use WST.
schoonie
Underlug I've loaded to 1.25" and make major using between 4.9 and 5.0 grains of Titegroup.
dirtypool40
the manual I used back when I shot 200 grain .45's said max oal was 1.235, so that's what I loaded to. Experiment with YOUR gun, see what length it likes for that shape.

underlug
Thanks all. Just what I needed. Anybody got a Clay's load? Pressure is the issue as these will mostly exit a revolver barrel. Most OALs are for semi wadcutters in the books.
underlug
bump myself. Anybody got a Clay's 200 grain Precision load?
Harmon
using the old precision 200 grain swc, 4.5 grains clays makes major in my 1911. i would steer clear of this one in a revo as it might be over pressure. those smith 45 cylinders are getting thin with .473 dia holes punched in it. SmittyFL
underlug, my data shows 4.6 clays, 1.255 OAL, 870fps, 174 PF in my 625. I orginally made the load for my 1911. It felt pretty hot in the revo but didn't see any pressure signs. Maybe go with 4.4 and see how that feels.

SmittyFL
Sorry, that data is with the precision 200. I don't normally use that bullet, I use Rainer's. But I had a few at some point and worked up that load.
