Mec-Gar Mag Spring Question

Because I live in the People's Republik of Kalifornia, I am limited to ordering "safer" 10-round magazines.

I have several of the Mec-Gar 10-rounders for the SP-01 Shadow and will need to replace the springs at some point. I have already contacted Wolff Springs, and they do not make replacement springs for this magazine.

The 10-rounders look very similar to the MecGar Standard magazines, except for the indention that limits the follower to 10 rounds.

Does anyone know if they use the same spring? I have emailed Mec Gar twice about this and did not receive a response.

Mecgar springs are impossible to get. The new style that snaps onto the lock plate.

I was hoping they used the same spring as standard, so I can order the Wolff springs.

you can. it just wont snap onto the plastic lock plate.

IIRC the grams 11 coil spring work. it snaps on the plate and you have to make an adjustment for the follower. but it works.

Mec-Gar finally got back to me, and said that the 17-round and 10-round Mags use the same spring.

Now I have this question - does the Mec-Gar magazine need the 5% or 10% spring from Wolff?

From the Wolff website:

Please Note: For the CZ75 only the +5% spring will be +10% The +10% spring will be +15%

I switched to the +10% springs to ensure reliable feeding with my Mec-gars. Probably didn't need to but since I'm a production shooter the extra 10% just helps make sure I don't get nose dive jams or anything and doesn't make the mags any harder to load

Was doing some searching and stumbled on this post. 

 

Trying to get +10% springs for CZ 75 MecGar magazines.  Do these Wolff springs that fit CZ magazines also fit MecGar ones?
