Dillon 650 and 9mm cases falling

I just acquired a used 650 in good shape. This is my first time to set up 650 for 9mm. I'm using 9mm/38 conversion with green tube and small green insert on swing arm with the small silver insert underneath swing arm. When I am pulling handle where it gets to the top that should be the point where the next 9mm case is fed down into the slide, the case is dropping out halfway up on the stroke. Any advise? Sorry for using wrong terminology on any parts if I did so. Thanks in advance.

Check your case insert slide... it can be configured two ways... the long ramp for pistol calibers and the short side for rife or longer case calibers. That will fix your problem.

Check the case insert slide Part # 97082

Make sure it is setup for pistol (the short side) facing towards the shell holder.

Where did you find a used 650 and how much was it? Being able to set one up for large and small primers is probably ideal for people who shoot both.

That's why I have 2 650/s one for small primers one for large primers. Also have a 550 for small lots of rifle ammo.

I figure the $80 for the extra primer assembly is a better value for me than a whole press. Two bolts and about a minute to change it out.
